Welcome! My trail name is Greyhound and I have been hiking SC trails like the Foothills Trail, Paris Mountain and the Palmetto Trail for years. I completed several thru-hikes of the 76 mile Foothills Trail and have done one thru-hike of the 400 mile Palmetto Trail. In 2023, I completed a thru-hike of the 2198 mile Appalachian Trail. When researching my thru-hike of the Palmetto Trail, I wasn’t able to find much info. There are 32 completed passages that span nearly 400 miles of 500, as it crosses SC. Some of the passages were tricky, and it was frustrating to lose the trail. It is always a little scary to go out and do new trails the first time. How difficult is the terrain? Good for kids or dogs? Good for mountain biking? I decided to video the passages to answer those questions and help with difficult areas of trail.
